So thinking ahead I will be leaving DIY this year and moving to my own place. We have had a pretty lovely time whilst here although there has been some ups and downs. The yard owner is a lovely person and I would like to get her/or the yard something from me and the boy?
So question is..
What would you get? - She has her own horse.

I was also thinking I could leave a wee keepsake like a shoe from my boy- perhaps decorated nicely as he has been there since the yard opened.? Any thoughts on this?

I think it's lovely you want to get something and I'm sure your YO will be touched by the thought but if I'm honest I'm not one for random clutter or tat so the horse shoe would probably get lost somewhere. I always think you can't go wrong with a big bunch of flowers and a nice card, or how about a hand done goody bucket filled with essential yard things she uses eg mane and tail, hoof oil ect

My standard gift is a decent bottle of port ( or some drink they like) and a card. I'm with above poster that I'm not into random clutter prefer to get something they will use/consume. However you know your YO so you know best what they would like. It's a very thoughtful idea

Or take a nice pic of YOs horse and have it framed for her? Or put on a canvas (that's not too expensive to do)

My sister took one of my horse from facebook and had it put on one of those travel mugs which are good for a yard as your drink stays hot and the lid stops bits of hay falling in your tea.
