It's not nice but it's the dog that won the title, not the handler so is it rally fair to take it away from the dog? I don't know. Her response on the other hand I found incredibly arrogant.

Ms Cross, who steered to success Am/Rus/Blr/Ukr/Cro/Lit/Lat/East/Slo/Pol Ch McVan’s To Russia With Love (Knopa), owned by Marina Khenkina from Russia, told DOG WORLD she had made a mistake and had ‘’fessed up’.
"I apologised,” she said. "I didn’t do it on purpose, it was just habit.
"But I’m taking no notice on what’s being said on Facebook etc – it will pass, and the people commenting aren’t real dog people. They are making a stance because they have nothing better to do.
"It’s disgusting to take a screen shot and put it all over the place. Really – you should have something else better to do with your time.”
Social media sites were buzzing after the finale of Crufts 2015, with many saying the lifting method fuelled bad publicity about showing, or that it was lazy, or a way to avoid interfering with the dog’s coat – ‘not against the rules, but not acceptable’.
But Ms Cross said she was paying no attention to the posts.
"It’s just one of those things,” she said. "It happened and I tried to really think about it and not do it, but it’s habit.
"I grew up showing dogs and it’s a matter of opinion – I’m not really concerned about it. I think silence is the way to handle it. Everybody has their own opinion.”
The KC had warned her, she said.
"I did apologise to the organiser and the club and I said it wasn’t done maliciously to make the club look bad or anything. It wasn’t done on purpose; I know my dog and I know the rules. It was just one of those things.
"But it will pass. People can take it how they want but I’m taking no notice because no one’s going to take this win away from me. I can’t take it back but I’m able to acknowledge that yes, I made a mistake.”

Agree with both points - the dog won the title on it's merits (and with the benefit of a terrier specialist judge doing BIS :p ) - her response is typical of die-hard dog exhibitors in my experience :(
 
Another quality crufts announcement:

We completely understand the concerns about how Knopa, the Best in Show dog, was handled on the judging table. Those showing at Crufts receive clear written guidance on handling their dog, in order to ensure the dog’s welfare, and this guidance makes it clear that dogs should not be handled in this way. This was further highlighted to the handler by show officials. The handler has since apologised for this and the upset caused and we’ve been assured that the dog, who must be our main priority, is happy and well. Prior to this incident the guidance related to handling has been followed by those showing their dogs but in light of this situation we will be reviewing our rules and guidance and how they may need to be amended going forward. A decision will be made by committee about what action may be taken within the current rules and guidance. In this specific case an investigation is underway and a decision will be made by committee about the actions that have been taken by the exhibitor at Crufts and the next steps. The judge’s primary focus is on the dogs themselves and we do not believe it would be fair to strip the dog of its Best in Show title because the dog was awarded this prize based on its own merits in the show ring.

I don't buy sorry 'it's just habit' maybe should practice the correct way more!
