As quote says, does anyone know of any insuance companies that are good...or ones to avoid!! I need to insure my 2.5 yr old, shes not doing much, a bit of groundwork, won't be backed till probably this time next year.

Any ideas? What sort of price should I be looking for?

Thanks x

NFU my 2 1/2yr old insured since a month old with them. Premium will depend on value of horse and level of cover. Third party liability is cheaper by being a Gold member with the BHS though.

The trouble with the NFU is that when my horse got broken in and started competing and his price went up to over £5k they wanted a letter from a vet or riding school instructor to say that his value is correct, as he's a show hrorse I said neither of those sort of people would know what his value really is.
So I had to leave and im now with KBIS, who seem to be good!
Just dont go with E&L.

I find local coffice is best contact.
We got a value increase with 'cuttings' of show results.
If they ahd not acccepted that, I am sure our trainer/registered instuctor would have written a valuation

I went into the NFU to get insurance for my 2 over xmas. I have a ISH 2.5 yr old and a 7month foal. To cover them both for the usual cost me £37 a month. Didn't think this was bad!! As will cover my ISH when she's ridden, only change i'll have to make is for vets when the foal is older which they said would be another £10 a month. Best i've come across!

I have my hunter insured with the NFU which is fab, but when I came to insure my 2 year old they wouldn't put him in a lower category than hunter. So have the baby insured with pet plan for now and then as soon as he's ridden he will be with NFU.
