What leg protection do you use for the cross country phase (front and back)? Best protection, best fitting, best styles etc. Need some new ones so want some ideas before I go and waste money. Mini tried and tested really

Many thanks.

I use Eskadron XC boots front and back and they are excellent and very secure. I also put Eskadron over reach boots on the front.

yeah, i also use the eskadron xc boots for the front, and use shires long boot for the back, but i would usually stick to woof boots!

Anything that fits, has protection on the front of the legs and double or treble closures (Eskadron boots are treble: 2 velcro + a press stud, and the o/r boots have double velcro) for security.

I use N.E.W lightweight Competition boots front and back - really excellent. They're very tough yet flexible, fit really well (never rub or move) yet wash so well they look brand new again. These ones:

For over-reach boots I just use normal cheapo rubber ones because Ive had neoprene ones in the past and they came off all the time.

prolites in front, excellent boots that fit very well, and have fantastic tendon guards
and either NEW or premier equine behind, both have the cannon bone guards, both types fit well, and wash well. i found that the prolites didnt fit as well behind

i use woof wear ones as no other company's do good white boots never had a prob wid them strong and choc has done a hole season eventing in them no probs.. much cheaper than prolites ect i have prolites bu dnt like them

I use premier equine front and back and they are fab, dont budge, provide decent protection and have cannon bone guards

Plus they are very reasonably priced which is always a bonus

We use Prolites or those Sabre leather ones at work (my boss events). Prolites are fab IMO but aren't particularly breathable. From reading similar posts over the last few years I'd personally go for either Premier Equine airflow ones, or Dalmar if I could afford it.

Use prolites and love them, Have an issue with the air cooled ones with possibility of sand/grit getting in the mesh... got some NEW LWT comp boots for schooling which I havent used yet but look ok. Impresed with the premier equine range though not keen on the copies of the WW ones...

I love my Sabre leather boots, they give such brilliant protection front the very start of the cannon and down round the fetlock which is hard to find in new styles.
I use prolites in front sometimes but for anything more serious than PN, I like the security of the leather

prolite prolite prolite....

i know they are a bit expensive, but we have had the same set of boots for about 6years and they still come up like new, they never slip or twist. the velcro stays done up, they don't rub even when wet or dirty, and they look smart.

my sister has even had them on a young one out hunting, going through legendary bilsdale bogs, and had no problems at all. even on skinny tb legs not a mark to be found.

plus they don't absorb water so they don't weigh a ton and they dry quickly.

Another prolite fan! Admittedly I'm only eventing PN, but they are used a lot in the big yards, which must say something for them!
