My horse has had turnout restricted to 4 hours due to ground conditions and is now struggling with her hind legs. It's just been that the legs have been filling but now she is dragging one of them slightly. She is a little arthritic as she's approaching 18 however she's never been like this before. She is on glucosamine which i'm going to step up to cortaflex and I'm also looking to get some leg wraps. I bandaged her legs last night and this morning they weren't as filled and she wasn't quite as stiff in the walk just the trot. I don't have time to bandage everynight so I think leg wraps are the best option. Which are the best brand? I've heard thermatex are good but any suggestions are welcome and also sizing. She's a 16hh TB so not the chunkiest. I wouldn't want to buy large/full if they come up quite big. Any suggestions are really appreciated as I'd like to buy/order some today for her and will bandage until i receive them.

premier equine do a stable boot or a magnetic wrap either of these are good - my mare has problems with filling legs too as shes normally out 24/7 she only has to come in for a few hours and they all fill up! but i have also started giving her a herb supplememnt its marigold and clivers and i have noticed a marked difference with this without the use of boots :) not too expensive either its £14 for 1kg

Yes I'll have a look at those premier equine one, also just spoke to feed mark who recommended their veteran aid and also clivers so if I go to your horse live at the weekend it's 40% off. They've sent out free samples so i'll have to see what she makes of it.

For drying legs I really like the Thermatex wraps but find the cordura outers are worth the extra as it prevents bedding sticking and seems to stops them bobbling too - the ones I have have lasted 10 + years and fit 14.2 - 16.2hh as they're not shaped. The equivalent Premier Equine don't dry as quickly and the binding and tabs are fraying after a year so are not as durable IMO. However I have found the PE stable wraps good as an alternative to bandaging and they have plenty of padding and as mentioned the magnetic liners for them are good too.
