George always loads and travels well, but even if the weather is really cold he tends to sweat up on the lorry (I guess he must be a bit anxious :() whether in company or alone. Obviously if it's cold I don't want him to get a chill, but a wet rug and horse isn't great either :(

I have tried him in:
Thermatex - too thick and got too hot
Plain fleece - ditto
Cotton lined Mark Todd stable rug (no fill) - ditto
Masta fleece/net cooler (fleece over back, net elsewhere) - ok, but has no surcingles so tends to slip which isn't good news.

Any recommendations? Oh and they need to be reasonably priced :)

How about getting a surcingle fitted to the masta rug if it does the job? Might be worth speaking to a rug repairer & see if they could do anythign with it for you.

I would still travel a sweater in a fleece - it wicks the sweat through and evaporates off, but helps reduce the chill

(Either that or can you clip more fuzz off??!)

Cheapest method - HORSE mag subscription for £30ish at an event and get a free masta fleece!
