Best liver / detox supplements?

L94 from Trinity Consultants has always been my go to for a detox. I do it every six months or so, around the change from summer to winter grazing and vice versa.

Have had great success with this for several horses showing liver damage from mouldy hay, also seen it turn laminitis cases around. I use it at season change now too.

I have had excellent result with Restore made by Global Herbs with quite a range of horses over the years.

(I've never felt the need to use anything else after trying it, so can't compare it to anything else.)

Those of you who have had success with Trinity L94, did you have bloods run before and after?
My boy has raised liver markers, and have been using milk thistle and a b vitamin complex. They are falling but still too high so looking at alternatives

Legaphyton and D&H milk thistle and D&H Also nettles

I've tried L94 3x over 2 horses and I've no idea if it works. One is getting monthly blood tests and it doesn't appear to have any effect.

One horse is fat but not ems. Can't get weight off him through restricting feed and he's only able for limited exercise. Tried L94 after speaking to the consultant and I don't think it had any effect.

Used L94 on Chip when he was undiagnosed and being mistreated and basically neglected/harmed by the vet. His bloods were still a riot.

After changing vet and being in hospital I tried it again once he'd completed treatment and was off steroids. His AST and CK were still really high at that point.

Again, didn't make any difference. I've also been feeding Milk Thistle, vitamin E and Pro Balance + along with mycosorb a+. He does not have pssm. He's been diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease.

Years ago I used a Global Herbs product for my Arab who was photosensitive (extremely) and got bad mud fever. Had liver tested etc and it was fine. Tried Global Herbs and it really did seem to make a difference, along with management changes. It was maybe called D-tox or Re-store. I had thr liquid version.

Now making a note to try thr Global Herbs version if he makes it out of winter without needing meds.

This is the problem, IMO. Most mild things liver or toxicity related will improve if left alone. All the people up thread saying L94 really helped, do not know whether doing nothing would have had the same results.

So my young cob, after his op in November, came home and I laid out a herbal water buffet for him, for a few days he drank the milk thistle water every day, he selected it over everything else.

Global Herbs Restore! I've used it on a previous horse that came up looking like he was going to drop, very 'sedated' and dehydrated and very jaundiced eyes - the yard owner turned him out in a field full of acorns/sycamores and ragwort despite me telling her I didn't want him in that field (there was no reason for him to move). Vet came out and took bloods, prescribed treatment and a liver tonic. I used the restore with excellent results!

Global herbs restore, horse on my yard had ragwort poisoning and bloodwork did start to improve after Restore, not enough unfortunately.

Equimins Detox and Cleanser (similar ingredients, not sure why they do 2) are both great. Two old horses on my yard who go noticeably downhill if they run out.
