In the title really. Need some new competition boots, did initially want brown ones but trying to find brown ones that are also short enough and not reeaallly expensive is not easy so think I'll have to go for black.
Currently selling some of the HKM Spain boots that are gorgeous but just too long in the leg (their short version are ridiculously short so no good either). Ariat Bromonts are also too long as they only come in one length.

Need them to be comfy and with a good grip on the sole, predominantly for eventing. Was thinking either Mountain Horse or Mark Todd - any suggestions?

I have the MH SC3 ones, they are fine but TBH I don't love them. I've had them for 3 years but they have never fully moulded to me.

Thank you. Maybe not them then, comfort is everything and I'll often spend most of the day ay competitions mooching about in them so need them to fit really nice. Probably quite a lot to ask without spending a fortune I guess.

Depends how much you want to spend?? I desperatly wanted some long brown boots for my short (and wide!) legs so i saved up for some Sarm Hippiques (I don't think that is spelt right!!). I love them! I always get comements on how nice they look!

How tall are you? or short shoud I say lol! I am quite short and have the ariat bromats... they did come up too long to begin with but have dropped and are ok now, just needed to be worn in, and they do a lovely brown boot now :D

Thanks guys,

Think I'm going to wait until Blenheim next week and have a mass trying on session to see which suits best.
I'm 5ft and the Bromonts were over my knee so I literally couldn't bend my leg - was gutted cause I loved them and they're so highly recommended.

Thanks muchly for all your help! :)

I am also a shorty, and have recently bought some Mountain Horse Venice field boots - they come in a short fitting, have a nice grippy sole, are pretty comfy, and didn't break the bank :)

Mountain horse supreme high rider!
The top of the range Ones not the clumpy ones!

They do various lengths and widths and I know they do a short version
They are super soft and supple and mould really well and have an elasticated stretch panel to get a better fit, they are very neat and look lovely one
They are £265 so quite good value too

Most people who had the mh sc3 ones said these are loads better

I am short too and love the Ariat Bromonts which yes, are a little long in the leg. This is easily solved by getting a pair of heel risers - once the boots are worn in, am sure they will naturally sag anyway. Good luck.
