Hey,

I have recently moved to a new yard which unfortunately the school is directly next to an A road, which isn't ideal with a skittish horse terrified of traffic, I was going to try a sound blocking ear veil to see how well this goes, any suggestions, reviews and comparisons would be great 😊😊 thank you!

I wonder if there is a market for noise cancelling horse ear plugs . I bought a set of noise cancelling headphones and they are amazing .

There is a market you can buy them they are to reduce the noise people use them at loud busy shows, like Hoys is indoors and has clapping and music some horses don't like it so a lot of people use ear plugs, there good for clipping as well with noise sensitive horses.

Be careful with the noise cancelling ears. My friend has her bridle come off mid way through a dressage test. I've read lots of reports from other people of similar happening as well. No idea why but worth checking carefully!

Thanks all, not keen on the idea buds only because he has taken a very long time just to trust me putting on fly veils/fly masks with ears so I'm not comfortable putting in the buds. Thanks for the warning Leo, never heard of that but thanks for the heads up

le Mieux works well for us - mainly because they are the only ones I can get in XFull for her big donkey ears. Oddly she almost went into melt down when I tried putting the plugs ones in. Yes huge difference for us too OP - different horse with her ear block veils on lol!

Never heard of bridle coming off while having them on? Not sure why or how they would?

because they are so heavy and padded, the horse shakes his head or rubs his nose on leg and the whole thing goes over ears!!!!

Really? I have never had that at all and as a sweet itch horse she can chuck her head about a fair bit in the summer and has occasionally rubbed her head on her knee and it has made the front off the veil pop up from under the browband or the back bit (behind the ears) slip from under the head piece even, but never even remotely came near to dislodging her bridle. I have sewn little bits of velcro on behind the ears to stop the back bit happening but apart from that no problems at all with the bridle.

But then perhaps it is also to do with the type of bridle headpiece and bridle fit etc.?

You might not have had it, but it has happened to several people I know so clearly it is happening whether you can see why or not

Sigh........I was not denying it has happened or does happen as I am sure you are aware, merely expressing my surprise as it has never been an issue I have experienced or even heard of and asking a perfectly reasonable question - i.e did anyone know why this happens as I could not see how it could happen IME.

The one time I used a fly veil my horse shook his head when standing and everything came off, bridle and all. It's certainly not unheard of there's a couple of cases with well-known riders at big events and I know other people in real life it's happened to. I don't really know why, maybe the fly veil is too slippery and it interferes with the bridle?

Yeah course you were. Thats exactly what they eye rolling smiley is for after all ;)

What is your problem? Seriously for someone who has done a huge amount of whinging and moaning on this forum about your own sorry life experiences of bullying and how unpleasant people have been to you in real life, you really do seem to like stirring up a fair bit of nastiness yourself in relation to some people who use this forum. I wonder why it would seem you cast yourself as the victim in real life - but leap into action on the internet to victimise others?

Now as I have nothing further to add on the discussion about ear veils and certainly don't want to clog up OP's thread with totally unrelated comments from you or I, and I do not wish to interact with you concerning your own parnanoia any further I will leave you to type away some pithy response to help you feel better about yourself.
