What do you find works best for preventing mud fever?

As above, but specifically I use Deosan which is udder salve with iodine.

pig oil and sulphur (patch test first). mud slides off, the scabs slide off, and the sulphur kills the bugs. From Ebay ( I use Sussex Cobs).

We just use pig oil with out the suphur... As have found that it can burn/weaken the fur of those with longer feathers causing it to snap... And on the opposite side of thing it can sting those who have fine fur/little feather.

Udder grease is brilliant. It's bright red so can give someone a shock if they don't know it's on though!
