Best non heating chaff for a not so good doer?

Well it depends what heats her up really! Highest calorie chaff I've found is Alfa A Oil which has 12.5 MJDE/kg, as much as some conditioning cubes/mixes. Depends whether she reacts to alfalfa or not. Interestingly, some horses fizz up on Alfa A Original but not on Alfa A Oil, presumably because the Original is molassed whilst the Oil is not.

Other high calorie chaffs are Readigrass (12 MJDE/kg), Spiller's Conditioning Fibre (11 MJDE/kg), Mollichaff Alfalfa Oil (11 MJDE/kg), Graze-On (10-11 MJDE/kg), D&H Just Grass (10 MJDE/kg), D&H Alfalfa (10 MJDE/kg), D&H Fibergy (9.5 MJDE/kg), Mollichaff Showshine (9 MJDE/kg).

Most bog standard chaffs are about 7.5-8 MJDE/kg.

2nd Dengie HIFI Original. Che has done much better this winter on HiFi, Fast Fibre and a few Hi fibre nuts in his treat ball. Apart from ad lib hay he has had nothing else. Admittedly he does next to nothing through the winter but last year he looked really poor by March, this time round, and bearing in mind the weather we have had, he looks so much better and has been calm and easy throughout.

Dengie HiFi Original is what I already use, just hoped I could find one that was mollass free. Might think about the Alfa A Oil.
Thanks guys.

If you are worried about the alfalfa in Alfa A Oil, then Readigrass is a similar calorie content and also molasses free.
