I've tendon damage to the fingers of both hands with some associated arthritis so I find it very difficult to prevent reins slipping through my fingers. My horse can be quite snatchy and strong so it is a problem for me. Currently I am using webbing continental reins with a knot in which work quite well. Can anyone else suggest anything better and dressage legal. I am not sufficiently affeted to get dispensation for looped reins (sadly). TIA

Personally I really like continental reins for helping me to hold the reins and also alerting me to the fact if I've let one slip :o I have plain leather with stops every 3", these were made bespoke for me by Sabre. But I've seen some that look like biogrip rubber with stops added on top advertised on FB, people seem to find those to be very good and might be worth a look?

ETA these are they, I haven't seen them in the flesh though

I have just bought the Henry James ones as above and they are great. Really eye opening how uneven I have been with the contact!

I use English Bridles Biothane spacer reins (continental). They are seriously grippy and with certain gloves, sometimes too grippy. Jolly comfortable though. I love them

I have poor grip in my hands and use a pair of continental reins that have a rubber thread woven through them, I can't remember who makes them though.
