I used to have some mountain horse overtrousers which were great, but ripped!

my boyfriend is complaining about me coming home covered in shavings, hay dust etc which is fair enough as he does have allergies, so I've been trying to miminise how much horse hair I get covered in but it doesn't help,

so I need some cheap overalls I can throw on over my clothes for jobs-- any recommendations? Xx

As Rab I like Castle overalls and use them all the time and just seeing your update they are about £20 or a little bit more. Sounds like the mountain ones are more of a fashion statement rather than keep you out of trouble boyfriend type of overall.

I use Dickies - available from Screwfix and similar fashion-focused emporia.

The men’s ones are cheaper than the female version and were a better fit for me.

Good pockets, popper fastenings down the front and around the £20 mark. They wash well too.

Look on e-bay; occasionally you'll get job-lots of overalls that have been used in say industry and for whatever reason they're getting rid (i.e. change of uniform or whatever) and you may find them offered.

I got ten assorted overalls, size Small, for £35. I work at a land-based college and need overalls for work as well as home in the yard so I thought this was a pretty good deal!

If you go for specifically "Women's" sizes, then frankly you are wasting your money as they are not any different to men's sizing!

The Dickies ones are way different between men’s and ladies’ sizes.

The ladies in question must be 5’10” Nordic goddesses with no buttocks. That’s all I’m sayin’ ?

My OH prefers their ladies’ fit. Nice and roomy for him in the crotch.
