As title really. My pony is just coming back into full work. She has been barefoot for about a year, but due to my being away at university has don very little work since September. Her feet are pretty good and she is sound on roads, but she is a bit footy on the stony tracks near the yard where I keep her. She also has a mild thrush infection at the moment which I am treating and it is getting better, but as a result she occasionally lands toe-first. She is on restricted grazing and a low sugar diet with pro-balance, brewers yeast and mag-ox, which has made a massive difference to her soundness.

I have some cavallo trec boots for her, which are the only boots which don't move. However, I have been told the cavallo pads are useless. So which pads would you recommend for this purpose?

Thank you very much in advance

Try adding generous tablespoon of salt to the feed too - I swear this helped my horse more than anything else :)

As for pads, I used some foam pads - like thinish flipflop/EVA foam - from old mac which really helped to cushion the soles.
