As above really, for delivery in North Yorkshire.

Buddy will be on box rest for a while after he comes home from horsepital, I am on straw atm but infection control being a priority I think shavings will be my best bet...
At local feed shop cheapest are snowflake at £6.99 p/bale...

So anyone got any suggestions??

Thank you very much, eclairs and smoothie up for grabs! xx

I buy shavings by the pallet but I only have 2 horses so these last me about 2-3 months. A supplier I used to use told me that they didn't consider this a bulk purchase, I would need to be buying about 3 pallets per month to be a bulk purchaser.

I now buy bedmax by the pallet, one evey 2-3 months & have negociated a discount with my supplier, not a great discount but I save around £20 per pallet on normal price.

An artic load will be at least 10 pallets, around 360-420 bales depending on number per pallet. It will last you a long time & will cost you around £2500?

Ditto Toby_Zaphod re bulk purchases we had to purchase a minimum of 8 pallet to get a delivery, which cost us approx. £2000, but will do me for 2-3winters with 5horses.

However at work (just east of York near 1079) we have just had delivered 50bags (not as big as bales but not a bad amount) from Henshaw Timber at £5 per bale & £25 delivery.

ETA: hope your boy is still doing well. Mine had a similar op a few years ago now & currently runs rings around the youngsters!
