I don't want a really crappy one, but don't want to spend loooooooooooads. As long as it has a fairly decent energiser, i don't mind buying crappy posts from ebay to bulk up.
only cause it was in my local store - think i paid £160 or something but i used it for shows all summer and the 2dd batteries lasted ages.
im not an expert though, it all confuses me but Rutlands customer service were brill - i phoned them and described what i wanted and they talked me through all the options.
Don't go cheap and buy the best you can afford, well worth it in the long run.Go for the ones made in New Zealand or Australia where they are made to give a shock through miles of fencing despite tallgrasses shrubs etc.
I tend to do the corners with 5' ,2" diameter wood posts bunged into the ground with a sledgehamer and use those plastic stakes in between but as soon as I can I fill in with the wood posts they are stronger and last longer
which exact one did you end up buying? the countrywide link didn't work but i have found the page with them all on.
I can see this being a waste of my time and money, my horse jumped (presumably) out of his paddock the other day, so if he can jump clear of it i don't see how electrifying it will help!
