I've had one recommendation already but I just wondered if anyone else has any please so that I can compare prices/specs? I need rubber matting for two 12 x 12 stables. They are mobile stables so the mats will initially be placed onto grass but will then be re-used once PP has (hopefully) been granted. I think I need fairly thick mats (17mm?) as they are going onto grass?

Whichever mats you choose, ask for some samples first, most suppliers will happily send them out for free/minimal cost :) Grooves on the underside to help any moisture drain away would be my recommendation, with good sturdy bobbles and rough surface on top so they don't get slippy. There are some mats which are more plasticky than rubbery which seem to be lethal if they get wet! (Not a very technical explanation sorry :( but hopefully it makes sense) I found ebay best as some suppliers I found through Google had extortionate shipping prices whereas for some reason those on eBay did not. Weight/thickness wise you need to judge carefully as well. Rubber mats are (generally speaking) a pain in the backside to move/lift so you don't want too heavy but some of the lighter mats I'd be worried about slipping. Sorry, not sure any of this is helpful, nor is it a recommendation for a particular brand/supplier, sorry :o

Thank you both :) I have Googled Mayo mats and just waiting for the pdf to download. chaps, your advice was very helpful, thank you. I was worried about the weight of the mats as I am not the strongest person these days but I don't want something too thin and certainly nothing slippery.

I kitted out two 12x12 stables very cheap. They were 6x4- 17mm thick, grooved on underside for drained and hammered bobbles on top. I really couldn't believe the price (which included delivery) compared to most places which was £45 for a matt of the same spec

I paid £27 per mat! Can PM details if you would like

Thank you SammyDingle :) I will PM you. I am not sure whether to get cheap mats for now and replace with Hippo Tiles (as recommended by another HHOer) when I get the stables permanently sited.

Please could you pm me the details? My friend and I are looking too, the cheapest shes found is £32

If your going to move them yourself it's Eva mats you need .
They do tend to grow so you might have to trim them a bit from time to time .

I got the interlocking eva ones from ebay, they were 75 ish for 4 and free delivery. they are the much thicker ones and have stood up well with one of mine who is a box walker and hard on her mats!. I have a concrete floor but not flat and was worried that they would lift a bit but so far so good

Wait until Countrywide have a sale! I got all mine in the sale, the £45 thicker ones for £35 in the sale and think i got a free one too. My friend has the interlocking ones and said they're disgusting, as they move so much.

Countrywide near me had them at £25 recently. I have them (Sadly paid£45 last year!) so can confirm they are decent.
Black mat company ones are good also

I've got some agrimats, some Mayo mats and some of these:

I got the Ark mats when they were on offer and they were half the price of the Mayo mats (from Mole Valley Farmers).
They were delivered very quickly and I am pleased with them. I would recommend the company.
The Mayo mats are over 20 years old and still going strong. The Ark mats I've only had a couple of years.
The agrimats are very heavy, the others are ok to move.

I've ordered some mats from eBay so let's hope they are ok. I'm on a really tight budget so I've had to go for the rubber ones and will enlist the help of OH and a strong chap from the farm to help me move them for cleaning as they are pretty thick mats and will weigh a tonne :o
