As post title says really...
OH has just got a job as part time game keeper and we lost his old gun dog a lovely lab in July to cancer so we are now looking for a new gundog for him to train up this year that will start working next year.
For some reason he doesn't want to take my GSD x Dobi.... he loved beating the few times I took him, just buggers off putting the whole counties pheasants up in the air
and gets rather vocal when he's meant to be sitting quietly!!
He fancies a cross bred either Springer x Cocker (pref. legally docked) or a Spaniel x Labrador.
Would consider pure bred or another cross from working parentage but has to be a bitch as we already have 2 entire males and he has enough scars from splitting up fights!!
Budget up to £250 ish (Hence why we're looking at X bred) but can't seem to find any in our area (North Yorks)
Had a look on Epupz and the only ads on there that look good either aren't working parents, too expensive or don't have any bitches left!!
Only sprockers I found on H&H were £500!!
If anyone can advise of any good websites or forums I can look at or advertise on I'd be really grateful!!
We would take an older dog if it was a proven worker, but wouldn't consider a rescue (Unless it was a rehome for a proven worker) as we need to know that it is likely to work!!
