IKEA potties were fab but at £5 a potty now, it's not very economical. So, looking for a good quality alternative at a cheaper price.

Nothing too flimsy

I never knew this was a thing till I recently passed a yard whilst walking the dog and saw they were using potties for raising poles. Thought it was a fab idea and have been meaning to get some!

I have these...

Jump Block - Great for pole work, trotting poles, raised poles for horses | eBay

They are about £10 each but really hard wearing, much more solid than a potty, won't blow away in the wind, won't shatter if trodden on, don't get affected by the sun. You can also stack them at 90 degrees to make small jumps.

They are great

I have just bought some from a friend and google showed them at £8.95 at most places if anyone is interested in getting some.

Yes! Mine were cheaper but I've had them a year and just presumed they had gone up. I bought mine direct from the company but couldn't remember who they were so did a Google for them!

I have a few of these that were hanging around on my yard. Not sure if they are identical but placed vertically you can use them to raise the pole either a little or more depending on whether you put them in the top or bottom hole. Not as light as potties but not quite as weird as a load of potties around the arena... and not as likely to degrade. Arguably the pole won't roll off so not as safe but I don't really worry about that, if my so-called eventer can't pick his feet up that high...

Just looked at a supplier and they are about £3 each.

I have those ones which look identical:

10cm x 10cm posts cut up about 20cm long sections, cut a little V shape in the centre of the long section to stop the poles rolling off cheap only an hours work easy to carry easy to store.

Potties degrade in the sun so do pollute, dedicated products have to be better surely....

We have a set of 20 ikea potties in indoor and outdoor. None live out in sun. Oldest are over ten years. Do shatter if actively kicked.

I’ve not found anything better. Have some pole pods but the are unstable is stacked to any height. Potties stack well if turn in alternating directions. I use mine a lot. It would cost 100’s to get 40 custom pole raisers that stack!!

i like the potties as they are light and easy to carry about. I keep mine in the tack room and it's so easy to take a stack of six out with me to the arena tucked under my arm.

There are other pole raisers knocking around at my yard, but they are really heavy to carry or even drag to get them into the right position..
