best probiotic

Can any one recommend? Fabs currently on baytril but the weeks before that was on penicillin and then karadox so has been pumped full of antibiotics over the last month! Gonna go and get a probiotic as know baytril is pretty hardcore and kills good as well as bad bacteria.

Pink powder. I really do think it helps my horse that was getting one colic a week at one time, as he rarely gets colic now.

Its also a feed balancer and a reasonable price too.

Where do you buy Protexin? From vets? Is it safe to use it without checking with the vet?

You can buy Protexin online from their website or quite a few feed merchants now stock it. Probiotics are safe; you can't really overdose them and they won't do any harm, even if your horse doesn't really need them.

Science Supplements gut balancer which is new and I think it won something at BETA International, has 9 x 10(12) cfu and its also apparently being used by The Animal Health Trust in Newmarket specifically for horses on antibiotics that upset the hindgut.
