I know this has been done a few times but i can't find the last post. Having just bought a new blue and white pony with white legs and never having had a grey before, i need advice on the best products to keep him clean.
He has already demonstrated that he's very messy and enjoys lying in the wettest bit of his stable, excellent.

My list now consists of

Naf Show&Condition
Dirty Beastie
Equimins Blue Horse Shampoo
Tesco Mint shampoo

Naf TeaTree
and
HibiScrub
they all seem to get Sol pretty white

I also have a grey and I really like the NAF tea tree oil shampoo. I also find putting a bit of baby oil on my horse's dry feathers helps repell the dirt.

On his body, once or twice a week I use coat condition by carr, day and Martin (similar to M&T conditioner) and this helps keep the stains from sticking.

Any ideas on my grey i have just started sharing he is scared of water both the hose and spondges!!! Silly little thing...I was thinking of a big haynet to keep him occupied if i have to bath him!!

Theres a product by Equine America- waterless grooming- its fantastic for greys- you just spray it onto the coat, or onto a towel, and it attracts the mud/stain and rubs it off- brilliant for mucky necks where theyve been rolling, grass stains and poo stains- cost about £9 an bottle- its brilliant!!

You dont need to wash him just show us some pics! We will still love him with poo stains! Must try and get some of that waterless grooming though it sounds grest for my girl. The trouble with a coloured is you have to get up extra early on show days!!

I will take my camera to the yard at the weekend i promise. He'll be starting grid work on saturday so might be worth capturing, haha!!

I think he will probably heve lot's of stains unless he's going out because otherwise i think i'll be doing nothing but cleaning him!!

I have to get my daughters shettie ( white and red) and my grey ( almost white) ready for a how on sunday.... cue buckets of water and soaked children...my hubbies horse just needs feathers and face washing....how unfair!!

BTW- Superpoo shampoo is great - cost about a tenner abottle but it lasts for ages and coats come up really white and soft...

I use Red Rum white horse shampoo by the gallon! I've used many brands - often more expensive but always come back to this.

I also swear by the supreme show products little blue pot (forge the name now!!)

For G's legs I use the supreme whitener

- not ideal for coloured though as it can cause dust to blow onto dark patches
