Just wondering basically what the best type of gloves are for doing yard work like mucking out, washing and tack cleaning. I have excema(sp?) so normally for tack cleaning I wear some super sexy disposible gloves  But now I'm looking out for some gloves that I can keep for working on the yard :) Because my excema has decided to hate me and my hands are currently feeling like they are on fire no matter how much of cream that I put on, I think prevention is going to be the best idea for the moment!

Any suggestions gratefully recieved :)

I have an amazing pair of yard gloves that are thick industrial rubber and neoprene with a fleecy lining. They are really good, seriously waterproof and warm. I get them from our local agricultural merchants shop - they're only £4.99! I've said, those and my Ariats are what have got me through this awful weather!

i've tried all the work gloves and rubber gloves, and none of them last very long, so now i wear my padded Sealskinz gloves for yard work too - toasty, waterproof, total protection. really need another pair to ride in actually...! as long as the linings don't irritate your skin, i think they'd be great.

I'd second the Sealskinz - I actually use Ariats for riding as I find the Sealskinz too bulky, but they are superb for everything else - to the extent that I am seriously thinking of getting a pair for gardening!!
