Have a ragwort infested paddock offered to me for rent, so am researching different ways of dealing with it. So far, have only come up with Barrier H, Round Up and Ragtime. The first I have found useless and the second also. Any idea about Ragtime? It's to spray a 1 acre paddock.

Ragtime worked for me. need to get it at the correct stage. Whoever sells it to yoy can give you that info.

We had a 4 acre ragwort infested field to deal with, got the farmer to weed kill everything, then plow the field and reseed it. Then it was a case of every day we went ragwort picking untill now 3 years on we go up once a week normaly come back empty handed. last summer i think we pulled 4 plants in the entire summer.

Yep, I agree re: pulling, but I would need to deal with it asap and there's too much to pull alone. One option is to have first month free in return for pulling it. Otherwise it's no-go. I hand-cleared someone else's paddock years ago and got no thanks whatsoever, aside from making myself ill. Hence, I'm looking for quick-fix options, combined with pulling. Sorry, was in rush earlier, hence abrupt and short post!

Don't worry Conniegirl, I would. I wore gloves the last time, but didn't realise how bad the pollen was and it was in full flowering season. So, I was getting maximum impact via my lungs! Looks like I would be expected to pay for the treatment AND field rent, though, so prob not going for it anyhoo.

I think the only way to really shift it is pulling. I found a ragfork pretty good, but it takes years to finally clear it. Barrier H kills the plants quickly but I found that within a couple of months it was growing again.
