As title really. My daughter has rubber reins and although her pony is not particularly strong she finds the reins easily slip little by little. I'm thinking the webbed continental ones may offer more grip? I've tied tying the rubber ones in a knot but it just comes out. Many thanks (she's ten btw)

My sister uses different coloured electrical tape on reins at intervals for the little ones she looks after (similar age), so they know when their reins are slipping easily. They weren't noticing the growing reins until they were washing lines, but the tape helped them get the idea of a contact and how they needed to hold to maintain it...

It may have been many moons ago but as a 10 yr old child with a strong pony out hunting I always had the continental webbing type with the leather stoppers. They were a god send.

Ah yes good idea. She has a real light contact so I'm constantly telling her to shorten her reins grr! I shall certainly try that thank you

My daughter uses the ones often used for showing that are quite thin, the inside of the rein has rubber grip but the outside is still leather making them less bulky than normal rubber reins for their little hands.
