Best respiratory supplement please

What's the best supplement in everyone's opinion for respiratory/breathing? Want to get the pony on one as since coming off loan I've been concerned about his airways, living the ideal lifestyle as out 24/7 but now his hay (which is soaked) has been upped noticed his breathing had changed.
 
There will be no evidence for any of these supplements so sadly you will be wasting your money.

Is he still out 24/7, or is he stabled for some of the time? Stable environments can be appallingly dusty and a good clean might be beneficial.

He is still out 24/7 with acess to a stable which has wood pellet bedding in it the only thing that has changed is the amount of hay he's getting. Do they really not work at all??
 
Hi. I use NAff Respiritor. Your hay is better steamed than soaked (if you can managed to do it), but best of all is haylage. Shredded paper bedding is also best if you can find it. I am 'mummy' to an eventing pony who was left with a dust (allergy) following a very bad lung infection three years ago and i have managed to keep him 'clear' by changing his environment and adding the Respiritor. Just use the cheap- version of the steamer with the barrel and the wallpaper steamer theres no need to fork out for the expensive one. Hope all goes well for you, I know how frustrating it can be.

I can find claims on supplement sites of this, but no links to the actual sites. It's just antioxidant vitamins/minerals that you would find in food and general supplements. Interestingly there is proof in people that high doses of antioxidants from supplements increase the incidence if lung cancer in susceptible groups - they had to stop the study early.

Great you are having such good results! NAF Respirator powder has been clinically trialed on groups of racehorses in Newmarket with very positive results. Im sure NAF will be happy to supply anyone with the trial results if you phone them up/ email them :)
 
We've used the Feel Good 30 liquid with good success on my sister's cob who has hayfever / summer RAO type thing, he gets very breathless in the summer and used to end up on ventopulmin most summers but so long as he goes on this early in the year he stays well enough to not need vet drugs, there's a definate improvement in him.
