My horse has mild COPD which is normally controlled through turnout, bedding and soaked hay. She developed breathing problems over the summer (first time this has happened in the summer) when the pollen was awful so I moved her into a different field which had been cut which solved that problem.
Unfortunately she's now coughing a lot more during exercise and is wheezing a bit. The vet isn't too worried, he's just said to monitor it and suggested I give her a supplement to help her along. I normally turn straight to Equine America but they have 4 on the market and there are loads of other ones out there so I have no idea which one to give
especially as they all have different ingredients.
Other than this she is in excellent health and it's only bothering her during exercise, she doesn't cough more in the stable than normal or anything. I've tried feeding her garlic but it didn't have an effect on its own.
