Hello,

Need a new rug for my horse. She’s a different shape to my old horse and after some thoughts on what fits best. Need a 100g turnout for her.

Have tried lots of fly rugs. It seems she has a chunky neck and big shoulders. I used to use amigo rugs on my Arab with big shoulders, but the one she has looks a bit short compared to the depth of her body. The amigo xl bug rug in 6’3” looks like it fits well - but rubbed a little while I was away and I think it was left on overnight.

Suggestion please? Ideally £50 - £60...

Here’s Maggie...

I’d say Weatherbeeta too, I have one of a fairly similar build & Weatherbeeta fits well - as long as they have the shoulder darts.
Premier equine also works but the quality these days is inferior to Weatherbeeta so I don’t tend to buy them any more.

Shires and Weatherbeeta get my vote. Shires are more reasonably priced but you can find some WB bargains.

I also found the going up a size with Saxon worked. My horse was turned out with a rug ripper so it got expensive very quickly! The Saxon held up well and I'd get one again.

Oh and Masta can work too. Not all of their rugs work for me; the basic range is too big at the neck and hangs. I do have the MW fieldmasta with the dome neck and it fits really well. It's going into its third winter and all its needed was a neck strap replaced after a game of hanging off each others rugs got taken too far 🙄 of you're a One Ckub member there are big savings available too
