Ethel is a typical TB, narrow shoulders and small chest, and all the rugs I have got for her slip back and rub her withers and shoulders. What is the best brand of rugs for TB's?? All her rugs are Robinsons own brand rugs at the mo, except for two, a Shires which is massive around her shoulders and chest, and a Jumpers (not sure on that one) stable rug which fits her quite nicely.

Thanks Kirstyl, might give them a try if they're a popular choice :)

Marilyn, never heard of that brand before, will have a look on the internet and see what they're like :)

personally i don't like the robinsons rugs, my oldie is very narrow chested and they have the same effect on him and even slip back on my broad connie. Horseware or premier equine are probably best :)

I use weatherbeeta and mark tood on my tb. They fit snugly with no rubbing, have tried other ones like masta, but they were a terrible fit and rubbed badly. It is just trial and error.

Horseware for me. Everything Rambo fits my old TB a treat.

I thought I'd try to save some pennies and I've just bought a Masta stable rug, along with a wetherbeta duvet for my new horse, and the duvet is awful, slips back so tightly. The Masta weighs about 500 tonnes and is unpleasant to handle as it soaks up urine like a sponge. I'm going have those rugs washed and sell them ASAP, even though I've only had them a week :( I wish I had just bought my new boy Rambo now.

I've got my new boy wearing one of my old Rambo turnouts and it's a super fit. I'll probably stable him in that until I get the stable rugs sorted.

Smirnoff - I don't think much of them either, but she is only 3 and she hadn't worn a rug outside so I don't know if she'll still fit into them next year and I didn't know if she'd destroy them so just bought the cheapo ones :)

helencharlie - Thanks, I will buy a selection of rugs next year I think and see how they fit :)
