Hi there,
I have a pad but recently a 6 year old has started riding our miniature. The pad is slipping and not really substantial enough now that they are starting to trot. Can anyone recommend a good saddle for a mini Shetland?
Many thanks

My 7 year old rides in a Thorn pad and is fine - we use a Prolite pad underneath to provide cushioning and a Pro Choice girth and have no slipping.

Guy Cantin treeless are a good option, one or two models come in below 14". I have fitted the odd sub 14" saddle but trees are a BIG challenge to get hold of (minimum order quantities), and the pads do often work on the tinies. The Cantin ones have more to them, I would also consider the Pad-dle.

I have just got the Heather moffett paddle saddle, they come up as small as 12in which I have seen on their fb page on shetlands. I have heard you need to get them with the closed styrup holder as the open hook ones the styrup can fall off with an unbalanced rider. They are about 395 new but you can pick them up 2nd hand a tiny bit cheaper.
