Hi, ive recently had a really bad fall and suffered concission and my hat cracked! (i was very lucky) im now having to replace my hat (as a birthday present so i can afford to spend a bit more) and i was wandering on what people recommend as offering the best protection etc as i bought my last last hat 7 years ago (shamefull i know) thanks

best bet is to try them on- even if it has the best safety rating, if it doesnt suit your head shape it will be useless.

I have a charles owen shaped head, so champion are just uncomfy and dont cover enough of my skull for my liking.

I dont like skull caps, or vented jobbys either, just as well really!

i thnk i will be deffinatly trying a gatehouse one after reading this, never heard of them before, but then again ive not bought a hat for donkeys years. there around a £100 but i rather spend more then go to hospital again! thanks for all your help as its my first time posting on here!

Same here, I tried on every hat in the shop until we found my head is Charles Owen! I now have a Charles Owen jockey skull for everyday and a Charles Owen Showjumper XP velvet cap for hunting.
