Any recommendations for schooling apps for your phone that I can use when I have run out of inspiration. I have horsehub but I am not a fan (£5 to watch a short video???!!!), never loads, would prefer diagrams/ script rather than videos.

This may not be what you are after at all but worth mentioning. It isn't an app, is videos rather than diagrams, and is still quite expensive but I have found Bernie Traurig's Equestrian Coach to be invaluable. It has hundreds of videos with all sorts of exercises and a huge amount of trainers so you can see who's style you prefer and focus more on their videos. It covers everything from starting schooling (for horse and rider) to advanced. Most of the videos are 20-30 minutes long and are very well explained. They all have riders doing the exercises so you can see how they work. I struggle to get regular lessons and this has really helped me progress. I also really like how in the basic videos they actually use green horses - not a schoolmaster doing everything perfectly.

If you hear of an app outside this forum please let us know!

Will look into that Rivendell, thanks. Is it similar to horsehero? I pay a sub for that and find its ok. There is a lot on youtube, but there is also a LOT of bad idiots and bad advice on there!
I like schooling books, have quite a few of those, but not really practical when at work, cant exactly sit down and start to read a book!

not an app as such, but how about an audio download ?

I have found these are quite good at giving you new ideas to try and cater for a range of abilities and levels. You just download onto your iPod and listen whilst riding: http://iridetraining.co.uk

Just looked at the horsehero website and it does look quite similar! I agree about the bad advice... After watching videos with conflicting advice I decided something needed to change or I'd never know if what I was doing was correct!

I love looking at the pictures in schooling books!
