What shavings do people think are the best, are there any better than hunters, or any that are cheaper and good quality?

I moved from shavings to Fitch bedding, best thing I've done

I've found hunters to be the best. Dependent on horse, I mix in about 3 dry 15kg wood pellets per week on 2 bales of hunters, and it gives a lovely bed without much waste. On other horses only 1 bale per week is needed.
Other types may be cheaper, but it doesn't last, and end up taking more wet out and putting 4 bales in.

I work in the Timber Industry but will stick with Fitch bedding now. There's more certainty on the quality and consistency because it's paper and I use less per week.

Hi Tiffany. How do you work with your paper bed? do you do a full muck out every day? deep bed on concrete or shallow bed of matting etc. The product looks pretty good
