Anyone got any advice? just want something to rake and roll - not too expensive and not too big - and something a numpty like me could drive - the farm tractor is great but we still have to do most of the "edges" by rake and my old bones cant cope at the min

We have an old Massey Ferguson which is great, we use it all around the yard and fields. We recently used it to spread 31T of sand (a top up for the surface) in the menage and it did a fab job and saved the £260 that the menage company would have charged to spread it. :)

Like Faracat, we use a compact Massey Ferguson for general around the yard things. I struggle with the big Massey we have - but even I can drive/reverse and tow things with the compact & that is saying something! ;)

We have had a Kubota B7100 for about 12 years now. It has an 5' underslung cutting deck so can top the paddocks as well as pull the roller round and the chain harrows.

Could not manage without it!

They really are fab little tractors. It always starts and all the local farmers love it, there are even tractor sections at our local shows! We've had it 6 months and have had 3 offers to buy it already! If you look after them, they keep their value and you can sell it on easily. :)

Any quad would probably be the best solution

I've got a really old ride on lawn mower which I use to pull a tiny section of chain harrows. It means I can level without moving my jumps! However doesn't really pull the edges in.

Otherwise use an ancient International with a big leveller on 3 point linkage. I would use dad's shiney new holland, but as I've destroyed the leveller once I'd rather use the old international!
