What are the most common sites you guys use for looking for a horsebox? I've put my old 3.5 up on Preloved and Free Ads and had some interest but not loads, I guess people won't be looking so much in this weather though!! But I don't know its worth paying to put it on Horsemart, Horse and Hound ect....

The only other thing is ebay but what are peoples experiences with selling horseboxes on there? I think they charge you quite a lot in fees don't they? Don't want to be charged loads if I am going to just get time wasters bidding and then not actually buying it!

Any help appreciated :o

Horse Gossip forum have a section for horseboxes for sale, they seem to generate some interest

Thanks will have a look at horse gossip, and no not too keen on the ebay idea really because I don't want to give it away for nothing!

Any more thoughts on paying for put ads on better sites? Or are ads put up in tack shops and things like that a better idea?

I would never think to look on Preloved for anything - maybe I am just behind the times! we sold ours through Horsemart and to be honest that is the main site I would look on if I was looking for a horse or horsebox. The reason being it is an easy site to navigate, you can narrow down your search criteria and, as an advertiser you have unlimited space to put full details and you can put several pictures. You can also edit the content for the life of the ad.
It wasn't very expensive when we sold ours but I don't know if it's changed. The only downside now is the horsebox section seems to have been taken over by Alexanders Horseboxes which irritated me the other day when I was having a browse!
You will get some timewasters calling, I am not sure this can be avoided. You are also likely to get the 'scam' emails talking about your "item for sale" (they will not specify what it is) and essentially trying to make you part with £0000's. They are very easy to spot though as they are written in extremely poor English!!! :D

i would also try Horsedeals. Putting ads in horsey shops may ot be a bad idea either but depends how much or if they charge you as well for this.

Haha well I put in on preloved because its mainly a site for cheap stuff, which is also why I wasn't sure about horsemart as it seems to be the bigger more expensive ones for sale on there, and my box isn't haha! I do agree with you about the Alexander horsebox thing, you can't see anything but those on there!

I'll keep trying, maybe when the snow is gone people will be more interested!

Ours was definitely NOT a fancy wagon and it sold within a few weeks. It was an old B reg and I think we sold it for just over £2K. I do think they need to do something about the dealer's ads on there though as there are pages and pages before you seem to get to the private ads! Maybe try Horsedeals or Horsequest, they may be better.
