Whats the best make or stable rug out there for durability and toughness.
I have a rug ripper and don't want to shell out for a rug hes just going to easily rip.

Advise please?

All stable rugs are fairly easy to rip. You might be better off with a turn out rug with a ripstop outer.

I guess it depends how determined your rug ripper is but my boy has this and the outer is certainly tougher than most of the quilted stable rugs he's had before - worth a look maybe?

Absolutely loving Countrywide's Kadance rugs- they are gorgeous, fit beautifully and are tough. A little bit expensive maybe but tbh worth it and often on offer.

The best best best rug Ive ever had was John Whitaker Lactic stable rug. Dont know if they do them any more but they were super quality and fitted like a dream - old chap has had his for 7 years and counting.

My Mark Todd is 15 years old and still looks new after a wash - honestly. I'll have to find a pic as I know that sounds unbelievable! That said, the little ginger one is very good about looking after his rugs.

His field mate is a fan of chewing his TO rugs though and the only thing I have found to stop this is McNasty Anti-Chew spray. Other things I tried were mustard and chilli oil, but they both only worked for about two days. Could work for you though. If going for the McNasty stuff I suggest you spray it onto the rug outside, as if you spray it somewhere enclosed like a stable you and pony will be coughing for a while!

I have a robinsons ultimate stable rug and its very good- mine has destroyed about 4 stable rugs in the last year and this doesnt have a mark on it. Also on offer atm i believe :)

I have the mark todd ultimate stable rug for both mine, lovely rug. My older horses is 10 years old and still looks new (well when clean).
