Been having knee pain for a couple of years now when riding for longer periods of time (2hrs +) so I've finally decided to look into changing my stirrups to try and reduce it happening! I currently have bent leg safety ones.

Which are the best for this? I have lusted after Jins and Sprenger Bow Balance ones, however my bank will allow neither. So could you please recommend some more within my student budget?

I used to have the irons that tilted, so that my ankle could go down further when my knee started to hurt! funnily enough I have a different horse now, and a brand new saddle and I don't need them! I always thought it was because I had wonky length legs! but actually now, I think I should have probably had my saddle checked as it probably needed reflocking

I found it was the saddle and not the irons. Had major issues with first one then both knees for a while. When I switched from my HM Flexee back to a true treeless (Torsion) the knee issues more or less disappeared. No idea why....

I've had multiple operations on one knee and my other is failing but my JHL flexi stirrups have been worth every penny, I went from constant knee pain whenever I rode to absolutely zero! I would love some sprenger ones but like you my budget just didn't allow but I now wouldn't swop my flexi stirrups as they're just perfect. I think I paid about £40.

I have heard of some cheap, as in poorly made ones been sold online so be careful, what may seem to be an absolute bargain could well turn out to be very dangerous.

sprenger saved my knees! i can now go hunting for 4+ hours no worries, whereas before my knees and back seriously hurt after getting off and the day after, didn't think it would make such a difference!
