I think Belle could really do with being on a supplement to ease the season-related stroppiness!
We got her Oct '09 and couldn't ride much through the winter, starting riding regularly in March and she was somewhat of a monster until about Oct '10 when she settled right down and has been an angel ever since... until now! She's just had a month or so off after she trod on a nail (which admittedly doesn't help) but about 2 weeks or so ago she had her first season. Since then she has been rather temperamental including being a horror for the farrier when she had been much better in the past few months. Today I rode her for the first time since her injury and caught her, groomed her and tacked her up fine (which used to be a challenge in itself), began to lead her out the gate and she stood bolt up right and nearly went over backwards. Tried again and she leapt about again. Waited a minute or two and then she was fine. Once I was on she was as good as gold.
My conclusion is that it's season related. She lives out 24/7 with 3 geldings and the timeline would certainly fit. We tried her on a supplement for this last year but to no effect. What would you recommend please?
