Do you keep a first aid book in your tack room? If so, which one and would you recommend it?
I have the Veterinary Care of the Horse book by Sue Devereux, which is my bible, but I think a little too expensive to leave in our tack room and probably a little daunting for my novice friend to want to pick up if she ever notices something wrong with one of the horses. I need something easy to read and understand, good for quick reference and most importantly, something that includes the basics (how to wash a wound - as I'm sure novice friend hasn't the first clue).
Thanks

Normally the BHS Stage books have some good basic veterinary care sections going from Stage 1 - 3, all the first aid books themselves tend to be quite comprrehensive and thick (and expensive)......the BHS do a great Stable Management book which I think also has a veterinary section but again its not cheap.

I have one called 'first aid for horses' by karen coumbe - it's definitely a handy one for the tackroom. Very straightforward with lots of pics and info about common problems and how to treat them. I think it was pretty cheap too.
