Best tack with interchangeable gullet?

thorowgood is a nice saddle with a interchangable gullet, i have one for my young cob and had one for my old horse to (GP, now for sale if anyone knows of anyone looking for one), although its not leather i still think they look nice, mine are T6

Like I and many others have suggested on your other posts, you really need to get your saddler out to see what fits your mare. An interchangable gullet will not make a saddle fit any horse. It will change the width of the gullet - that's all. The saddle tree and panels also need to fit the shape of your horses back, and only a saddler will be able to asses that for you. I would call up a couple near you that stock kent and masters/thorrowgood/decent 2nd hand and get them out to take a look at your mare. Also bare in mind that master saddler does not mean they are a saddle fitter, they need to be a saddle fitter with the SMS. Ideally go on recommendation too if you can.
Good luck shopping!!

well they clearly can point me in the right ditection of a good saddle FOR A TB WHICH I EXPLAINED AT THE TOP. Don't comment if you're going to have a rude opinion and not read my description properly because nobody else seems to be struggling to help.

You did not actually state which breed/type of horse you had in the initial post; and there is no better person to fit and advise on saddlery than a trained saddle fitter (Society of Master Saddlers).

I was fortunate that my saddler came out and managed to find a saddle, which HAPPENED to have a changeable gullet system, to fit my young TB.

It is a shires optimus jump saddle and was very cheap for a leather saddle, but I would not have bought one willy-nilly simply because it happened to be a changeable gullet saddle. Your young horse needs all the help you can give it to muscle up correctly in all the right places, and a good fitting saddle is an imperitive part of the picture.

Get in touch with a recommended saddle fitter who have a selection of saddles (new, second-hand, fixed and adjustable gullets) and let them know your price range :)

Good luck!

The Kent & Masters I bought for Kal is lovely and not too heavy, but he's very thoroughbred-y (as in narrow). Recommend the make, though.

Which 'TB'? 6 friends have TB's. Each one's back is a totally different shape and none could swap saddles. One takes a cob style saddle due to wide spine, another a narrow. One's a standard tree, another needs a very flat tree and another has a dipped back.

Thorowgood make a very well designed and high quality saddle but even with three model's they don't fit everything. Wintec are not as well designed or made but suit some horses better. WOW make a very expensive saddle that, with the right combination of parts, can fit nearly any horses but some hate them. GFS, Barnsby and a couple of others now make adjustable saddle but they don't suit all horses.

Which one is 'best' is the style that suits your horse best.
