Apologies, haven't read whole thread but look into TB cross Shire. Never a bad word said, beautiful animals!
'Nother vote for CB... I have a CB x TB and she is the bees knees... If you want to see pics of an ace CB x TB youngster have a look at the News page of Thomsonbrook CBs .. for pics of Jean's p/b youngstock winning a 1st premium in the BEF Futurity. Jean's CB stallion is very special too..
One word of caution .. they are exceptionally intelligent.................![]()
If you want to be fairly confident of a bigger horse then welsh D is probably the better bet, just be sure to research the lines as some of them are a bit sharp
Otherwise maybe an over height connie or Newfie ?
They also have a stunning RID stallion, Coilldarach Scirocco.

I have a TB/ Welsh Sec D but the other way around to yours, the dam was a Sec d the sire a thoroughbred. She is stunning but is very sharp even now at rising 20 she can be a handful. I did once consider buying a TB/ID, fantastic cross and a really beautiful animal. Unfortunately at 16.3hh she was to big for my stables! Good luck with whatever you go with, nothing like breeding your own but I wouldn't do it again!!![]()
So, I'm looking along the lines of CB's (JanetGeorge - any recommendations?) and also ID's. Any photos do post!
Thankyou everyone so far as it's really helping me make my mind up![]()
