Following on from the “thin saddle pad” thread.

My saddler suggests a thicker numnah as my horse’s withers become more defined as she ages. My saddle is GP/ jump and my horse gets very sweaty so an easy wash and dry numnah, not saddle pad, would be preferred.
As I can only do online shopping and therefore not see anything before purchase what high wither padded numnah would you suggest?

Mattes half or full sheepskin numnah with the 4 pocket correction system.

The best, but pricey and they do take a while to dry out after washing. They come with thin felt type shims which you add exactly to your horse’s needs.

Wheabouts are you? I’ve a large GP/VSD half lined one which you could try if you’re not too far from S.Cheshire. It’s not for sale though, and I’d rather not post it out.

I have a lemieux air mesh which is cooler and similar thickness but they have changed them now, and a similar ecogold. (mine is/was particularly sweaty beast! :p)
 
Can't beat a good old fashioned poly pad for practicality and ease IMO. They do numnah shaped ones and extra thick ones these days as well.

She seems to get in a lather whatever I use. I have tried, but these are all old, a Nuumed ProPlus ( no wool), a Prolite pad, a full sheepskin and a half wool nuumed.
The wool and sheepskin get clogged with her white hairs. I have never had a horse lose hair so much.
I have been looking at the correction ones without sheepskin or wool. I am not sure if they would be as effective.
Would it be OK to use a thin numnah under the sheepskin? Or would I be setting myself up for more problems?
 
This one would really be my recommendation from a cool point of view but it probably depends how big her withers are. F has withers and did have associated topline loss.
For us the interior foam was actually too thick and I bought thinner memory foam to replace it with which is why I think it might work for you (and if not you would have the option to add more instead if you wanted to, there is a long strip of velcro)

Now, I don't entirely know the answer to that question. I got mine when they used to do occasional discounts and Kerilli then used to do bulk orders and re-ship several years ago. (I note she did one in June on twitter eventing on fb)
I'd kind of forgotten that so it might not be the best suggestion! There is a reason I have no functional horse but haven't sold that one... Not near somerset are you? :p
Horses in sport definitely used to do the boots.

Shropshire is a bit far.. but not as far as Canada!
