Best thing to use?

My little shetland has very dandruffy skin (don't know of a better word for it), I have no idea what I can use to clear it up! Any ideas?

A good drop of oil in the feed can do wonders for the coat condition.

Sunflower oil - as opposed to "vegetable" oil. Its cheap enough and does the trick. Tho not too much as it can also be fattening - as with all oils

Will give him sunflower oil, how much do you suggest I give him?
Quite tricky as he is a little fat mini shetland and it is spring time!

Ummmmm a very good question (for such a likkle chappie ) All of mine are a lot bigger and I give them "a good splash" Not very helpful I know. Probably about half of a quarter of a cup (if that makes sense - fractions were never my thing!) See how he goes on that. You can always play with the quantities

Is there any shampoos that are good for his dandruff?

Naf Tea Tree is good. Failing that I have used Head and Shoulders before now. Tho that was extreme and I would probably start by using gentle shampoos. Do you know what started it? Has he always had it? Change in diet / field / routine / allergy?

Feeding a seaweed supplement, it improves the skin and great for itchy skins too.

Thanks He has always had flakey skin during the winter months, it normally improves in summer after a few baths and lots of grooming. It just seems to be worse this winter & I want to show him so would like his coat in top condition asap
Worse thing is he has a huge afro for a mane, & trying to get shampoo right into the skin and rinse it is a nightmare!
