We need a new towing car, got about 6.5k to spend, will be my hubby's car so can't be a piece of poop. I am suggesting Kia Sportage but they are so hard to come across, so any other ideas? Will be towing my Ifor 505 trailer and my 500kg 15.2 horse.
Thankies in advance

Isn't a kia sportage a play at 4x4??!! (similar to a suzuki?) not sure if that would tow what you want, the kia sorento is supposed to be a very good tow car.

Id be looking at swb shogun, landcruiser, discovery you should get a reasnable one of them for your budget and all will tow your IW safely...

you will not get a decent landcrusier in that budget, and only the old style disco. we have looked at the kia and a mazda one and both of bit rubbish for towing.

depends what you call decent friend has a colarado which cost less than £3000 two years ago she loves it, better to buy a older quality car than a newer cheap one especialy for towing.......

I agree, kia, mazda and some others are showy but dont have the pulling power of a disco. Saying that we have an old disco and is so unreliable, its had a new engine and everything. With older cars relability is compromised defo. If getting one 2nd hand go for urban areas as they are likely to be 'chelsea tractors' and never done anything but drive around on tarmac. Off roaders and horsey people are a bit abusive to cars so will often be in worse nick.

I tow a HB505 with two ponies in it with a Nissan X-Trail. It has never let me down, tows really well, and I love it!

Definitely go for a Kia. Definitely wouldn't recommend any other. Don't waste your money with anything else. I have an ifor, 15.2 and tow with my Kia no problems at all, and I always go with someone else and it has no issues. It was definitely one of the heavier better pulling cars about. I had the same budget as you and love my car.

xx
