Can anyone recommend strong toys for my puppy? she is at the chewing stage and breaks her toys in minuets! she isn't happy till she gets the squeaker out! She is not chewing the furniture or anything at the moment. She has lots of strong rawhide chews but prefers toys! I keep buying loads of different makes but have failed to find one that lasts! x

Mine goes thru a kong extreme in about 6 weeks. We had better luck with a starmark treat ball which survived a year! The problem is that you can't put kibble in, so a I have a Kong extreme for kibble and the starmark for the rest of the time. Mine is a total power chewer though!

Try spending a bit more time with her, leaving this imaginary puppy for long periods of time is going to exasperate chewing, there isnt a toy on earth which is going to satisfy this puppy.

Maybe get her some imaginary friends to keep her company, treating the others the same as her though is likely to mean more chewing.

RMBs and avoid rawhide at all costs....much of it is 'cured' in Asia using arsenic and other toxic substances.

If she is teething, anything frozen will help alleviate the pain.....even a tea towel soaked in stock (NOT a stock cube type stock as too salty, but a stock derived from chicken carcasses etc), knotted and then frozen will help. Alternatively, frozen carrots....

Dobiegirl, do you think this thread is a wind-up?

Am sure that Dobiegirl has her own views, and must admit that the jury is out as far as I am concerned, but maybe, naively, am giving OP benefit of doubt PURELY because others may find this thread as the result of a google search.

PS Search on the OPs name on this forum and see some of their previous dog related posts in order to make up your own mind.

Thanks for that. Had no idea hide chews were so bad, nor that frozen stuff helped with teething.

Depends on the individual mine never took to Kongs we used the puppy rawhide and still do. Not aas bad as she was but still chewing we just use an endless supply of rawhide type chews
