As title really! Am trying to distract them from total yard and stable destruction (still yet to find my favourite broom head!)

Thanks

To be honest, nothing is safe from hound pups. I watched in disbelief through the kitchen window last week as my one and only cashmere jumper was torn to shreds by 2 hound puppies and a terrier. I keep finding bits of it around the garden. I thought I had left it safe in the feedroom hung up on a peg.

They will destroy anything they come across.
Nothing is safe unless locked away!!

Antlers are brilliant! Hours of chewing time and fun and take ages to destroy. Ask the kennels or local gamekeepers. Otherwise lock them away - joking!!!

ahh this is very true we are having a year off puppy walking but am missing them already!!! i lost soo much post to them!! as a cheap option you could ask your local butcher for some beef bones theres not usually a lot of meat on them but they taste nice and keep them entertained the down side is you do tend to find them months later buried somewhere!! unfortunately i dont think there is anything invented yet that will keep them occupied for more than half an hour!!! and as for the cashmere jumper why do they always take the best stuff and not the smelly old jumper with holes in it already which was waiting to go in the bin!!!!

Over a 15ish year period I have found that they really like:

tendon/brushing/any kind of boot
bandages
gloves
oh's tools
grooming kits and anything therein
dog bowls
riding hats
whips
anything else which is not actually theirs but is within reach :D

(drives my liveries mad)

I am having great success with the children's soft toys! there is a big tub of them in the playroom and they don't often get played with. puppy sneaks in, nabs a toy and sprints off with it to the garden then plays with it for 10 minutes. repeat til tub is empty! then they all get thrown in the washing machine every week or so. the three year old child gets a bit upset when the toy ponies are "puppied" though. and she also likes dirty nappies. yuck yuck yuck.

oh, and a nice half carved leg of lamb keeps her very quiet...... that was this sunday's lunch. dh was NOT happy. suffice to say she is spending a bit more time in the stable now. her scavenging instinct seems to be really kicking in!
