Best trailer?

Thanks Kat. But is that only with an empty trailer?

For instance, in a few weeks I need to take my mare down to Shropshire for her final scan. I was going to hire a trailer, then get a friend (who has her B&E license) to use my L200 and take her down (with me going with her). BUT would I be able to drive her down with her in the car with me in a hired trailer (with L plates etc)? Or not?

Or another one, if we bought a trailer early, could I tow a horse down the road (to a local show for example) if I took my mother with me who has her license? Again with L plates?

Trailer on L plates under B+E provisional rules can be loaded or empty - basically you can do whatever a full B+E licence holder can do

If hiring a trailer and using it on L plates then double check that is ok with the hire company because of the insurance issue

If mum goes with you and she fits the criteria for supervising and its your own trailer then that will be fine - see poat number 4 of this thread

The trailer companies say you need to get your own insurance …

Im covered on my L200 as Im fully comp (I rang up to ask) … and I was going to get hired trailer hire for the day insurance on top to protect the trailer – is that enough?

Only your insurance company can answer that question

I love our Bateson Ascot. Had it for years and its still going strong. Bateson as a company are excellent, really really helpful if you do have any problems. I personally am not much of a fan of Ifors, they're more "agricultural" IMO.
