Best UK Sires

I would imagine that Delovely is Lauriston's mum, just because she sent me an email about the two horses at Olympia!!

Lauriston is a dude, all my offspring by him have been fab! Definitely got on my list of stallions to use again

Volatis - yes I own him in partnership with Henk @ Renkum but for the past two years he has been with us.

He is my horse of a lifetime! Didn't think when I very cheekily asked Henk to sell him to me that he would even consider it.

What a fab post. If my mare doesnt come right then im going to put her in foal this year and was wanting to use a british stallion. I will be researching all the dressage stallions mentioned below. Thanks guys.

I echo Pro-Set (think it was Maestro who said him), not just because my yearling is by him but also because there were some very successful progeny by him too at the Futurity this year at all levels.

Also, MD_Bec (I think... the lady who had the amazing success with her stallion recently at the gradings) has a beautiful gelding by him who I am watching very carefully as he is the first one under saddle that I have known

I think he is really starting to prove himself as a sire, and hopefully as more progeny hit the competition circuit we will see more successes...

Volatis - Thank you.

Lauriston gets enough mares for a boy of his age. Although as you know, (I believe you saw him at PHSP Stallion parade @ Moulton College) he looks, acts & performs like a stallion half his age. Long may this continue!

I ADORE Lauriston and currently have 2 mares in foal to him for 2009 and 3+ to cover for 2010!

I also have a selection of youngstock by him at home and I bred the 3 year old BEF futurity champion (show jumping)

He improves every mare he covers, his foals have fantastic trainable brains and his performance record and that of his offspring is second to none!

I concur all your comments re Lauriston. I have a 3 year old by him and I totally adore her. She is easy to handle, totally level headed and has character all breeders hope for, not to mention her great paces. What I love about Lauriston is that he throws such correct conformation and a stamp that is very much for the modern day sports horse. Having another by him this year and can wholeheartedly recommend him. A real gem!

nice light hearted thread after some of the others that are on here at the mo.. ive got a light short Calvaro Z mare that was thinking of going back to Zangersheide with.... but after reading whats on here and the exchange rate i think it is the time to use a british sire... Lauriston has always caught my eye due to holstein connections the other 2 are Tornado and Hemmingway .. not much knowledge with the dressage but i like the look of murryfirths Don Aqui for dressage and eventing..

hi i have a 5 year old mare by lauriston and she is fantastic, great at dressage and show jumping and her temprement is the best! lauriston is the best stallion x x
