Daisy is moving to a new home on Saturday and I've bought an electric fence to stop her eating to much in her new field.

Where is the best value place to buy a 12V battery and recharger? OH is being very understanding about the fact that I have bought a new saddle and electric fence kit already this week, could do with not spending too much

try a garage and see if they have any knocking about

In the long term car batteries don't work that well as they need recharging often and if you don't, they give up the ghost. so unless you can get a couple free from a garage, I suggest a leisure battery. Either from a caravan shop, or proper electric fence one. Mine is an Electric Shepherd one as was about £60.

A leisure battery will last longer than a car battery. As a car battery is designed to be constantly recharged when you start the engine but a leisure battery is better for trickle discharge such as fencing!.Camping shops are good for leisure battery's.I got one off ebay for £25.
