Pretty much self explanatory by the title. Looking for insurance for my 23 year old Andalusian x Connemara. Wondering if anyone had any recommendations and what to look for in a veteran insurance. Thanks!

I think you may struggle to find an insurance company willing to give you a new policy at the age of 23, many will continue to cover a horse as it ages but to cover an older one at the age where it is likely to have issues is not a good risk for them.
It may depend on what you want, some will pay out for death through accident and cover accidental injuries but they will not cover anything that is age related such as arthritis or anything that may be preexisting, they will require a full disclosure of his history and may also want a 2 stage vetting .
You can get third party through the BHS or similar and would probably be best putting away some money to pay for any treatment he may need in a bank account rather than rely on insurance for a low value horse.

Hi, PetPlan continue to insure 'normal' until they are age 25. I opted to change to a Veteran plan for my 21 year old as she is pretty much excluded for everything that would require a huge sum of money to pay for and the veteran plan covers accidents only as well as third party liability and personal accident. I pay around £10 a month now with petplan. If she has any need for a major operation then at her age I have decided not to put her through it...
