As Ronnie is coming home on Friday I am going to treat him to a new rug (probably justified as Christmas present but you'd be amazed how many rugs I haven't even bothered to justify

Please would people let me have their recommendations? I have a chunky TB with massive shoulders. Preferably no pink or purple in sight!

They're not waffle rugs but I don't think anything can beat a genuine Thermatex (NOT the Colin Cook Thermalux). They come up quite big so mine use a size smaller than their normal rugs. The Aerborn Insulux are nice summer coolers.

I have a slight problem with my Premier Equine cotton sheet - it's too small round the neck, so I'm worried the waffle one will be the same. He has big shoulders and the top front do-up is too high - Ronnie can't put his neck down.

I would recommend the Mark Todd Coolex rugs, but for the price I am really p*ssed off that mine has totally rusty clips and the buckles are also oxidising (cheap plated buckles and even cheaper hardware on the belly straps!)

£80 rug and they cannot pay the extra for stainless steel hardware is disgusting.

Goodness that's terrible - I really rate Mark Todd stuff too. I have a coolex neck rug which I use with my Thermalite rug, which is fantastic. I'm looking for something a little lighter than that but thicker than a fleece - hence the waffle. My previous mare had a waffle rug and it was in constant use! My Lansdowne Thermalite is special occasions only
